Learn more about Amadeus and the Iron Spider below!
Name: Amadeus Cho
First Appearance: AMAZING FANTASY (VOL. 2) #15
Powers: Amadeus is the seventh smartest person on the planet and has a "hypermind" capable of making an infinite number of calculations at incredible speed, almost at that of a computer.
Origin Story: Amadeus took part in, and won, a "young genius" contest and with his level of genius being apparent, the contest organizer, Pythagoras Dupree, wanted to have him killed. His house was blown up and Amadeus survived the attack, but his parents didn't. With nowhere to call home, Amadeus took to the road and befriended a coyote pup along the way, which he named "Kirby."
Amadeus crossed paths with Hulk, who saved Amadeus, and he then only ever saw Hulk as a hero. When Hulk came back to Earth seeking revenge for being sent into outer space, Amadeus gathered Hulk's friends to talk sense into him. In the process, Amadeus striked up a close friendship with Hercules.
Amadeus reminded Hercules of a former young companion who died, so Hercules teamed up with Amadeus for many adventures. One of these adventures led Amadeus to confront Dupree, who challenged Amadeus to a deadly game of wits, which Dupree ultimately lost.
Name: Iron Spider
First Appearance: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #529
Powers: Grants flight to the owner, is bullet and flame proof, has hand repulsors similar to those of Iron Man, three arms to manipulate, and an air-filter to remove toxic fumes.
Origin: Designed by Tony Stark during Civil War for Peter Parker when he sided with Iron Man. Unbeknownst to Peter, the suit gave him advantages in combat while also relaying information secretly to Tony about how Peter's spider sense worked.
Tony secretly installed overrides to the Iron Spider so that if Peter switched sides, Tony could remain in control. Luckily, Peter knew about these overrides and disabled them when he ultimately switched sides and threw away the suit. The suit's design was later used by the Initiative for a secret task force known as the "Scarlet Spiders," who were clones of the hero MVP.
Amadeus's smarts are a perfect match with the Iron Spider's strength, as his intelligence makes him quick to learn any computer systems. Amadeus seems to know more about the suit than even Peter! Stay tuned to "Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man: Web Warriors" to see what Amadeus and the Iron Spider are capable of, for better or for worse!
